Canadian American Business Council supports acceleration of Keystone XL Pipeline development

WASHINGTON, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Long a priority issue for business leaders in the United States and Canada, the Canadian American Business Council (CABC) today announced its support for President Obama's plan to accelerate the development of the Southern US portion of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
"The development of the Keystone XL Pipeline is something that, we believe, would bring a great deal of prosperity to both the United States and Canada," said Amgad Shehata of UPS and Chairman of the CABC. "Creating a reliable and, most of all, secure, source of energy that is truly North American is something that will help stimulate recovery on both sides of the border. We applaud President Obama for his effort and look forward to the completion of the entire project."
The announcement for support comes on the same day as the CABC released results of a survey of U.S. and Canadian thought leaders finding that support for the Keystone XL Pipeline was among the top priority issues for 2012. In addition, these leaders expressed support for updating energy infrastructure generally in both countries.
